Our Emergency Center is fully equipped at roughly 25,000 sq. feet with 21 Private Rooms, 10 Behavioral Health Exam Rooms, 5 Pediatric Patient Rooms, 3 Semi-Private Exams Rooms, 3 Vertical Treatment Stations, 2 Patient Isolation Rooms, a Compassion Room, Cardiology Triage Room and a Trauma Room. The entire team is highly trained and ready to handle the most serious emergencies, including opioid and heroin overdoses.

Late at night and the urgent care is closed? Wondering if you need hospital care but are just not sure? Need to see an emergency provider but are worried about the wait? Don't worry, we have you covered!

Bristol Health offers virtual Emergency Department visits from the comfort and safety of your home using your smartphone or camera-enabled device. You can see an emergency physician—and they can see you, to assess you and provide care as well as to determine if you need to come in person.

When to Visit the Emergency Center vs. Urgent Care

Emergency Center

Seek emergency care if you think you have a life-threatening condition or if it’s after hours and you need immediate help for the following. Included but not limited to:

  • Chest pain
  • Difficulty breathing
  • Severe wound
  • Head trauma
  • Severe bleeding
  • Fainting
  • ​Loss of vision

Don't hesitate to call 9-1-1.

 

Urgent Care

Use urgent care for minor illnesses and infections for the following. Included but not limited to:

  • Upper respiratory infections such as colds, strep, sinus
  • Infections and bronchitis
  • Ear infections and blockages
  • Vomiting, diarrhea or dehydration
  • Eye irritation and redness
  • Flu, viruses and stomach bugs
  • Urinary tract and kidney infections
  • Rashes and poison ivy
  • Boils and abscesses

And for minor injuries such as:

  • Accidents and falls
  • Minor broken bones and fractures (fingers, toes)
  • Lacerations, scrapes and bruises
  • Workman’s Comp injuries

And for some testing and preventive care such as:

  • DOT (Department of Transportation) physicals
  • Flus shots and vaccines
  • Sexually transmitted disease (STD) testing
  • Covid-19 & RSV testing
  • X-rays and other imaging
