Greater Bristol's Emergency Medical Service Provider

Our highly-trained paramedics work hard to meet all of the medical needs of our community and take pride in being a leading EMS provider in Bristol and beyond. With a central location, we are the primary EMS service, responding to 9-1-1 calls and emergency situations in:

  • Bristol
  • Burlington
  • Plymouth

Recognized for Excellence

The American Heart Association has recognized our EMS team for attaining 75% of higher performance on each applicable Mission: Lifeline EMS Achievement Measure for consecutive 24-month intervals to improve the quality of care for STEMI patients.

Our EMS team was also recognized for excellence in our survival to discharge rate for prehospital cardiac arrests by CARES (Cardiac Arrest Registry to Enhance Survival). In 2022, our survival to discharge rate for prehospital cardiac arrest went from 4% to 10.1%, better than the national average.

Training & Education

An Emergency Medical Services provider has the goal of treating, stabilizing and transporting seriously ill or injured persons in the pre-hospital setting. Here, we have another goal and that is to educate and train. Bristol Health EMS is a provider of Emergency Medical Education including First Aid and CPR. Quality EMS education is the first step in improving the standard of care for our citizens. 

American Heart Association Classes

Our training is a certified American Heart Association Training Center offering all levels of courses from AHA, including:

  • Healthcare Provider CPR/AED 
  • Heartsaver CPR/AED
  • Day Care Provider First Aid – we are a State of CT approved site to offer this training
  • Basic First Aid
  • ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support
  • PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support
