Childbirth Education Classes
The childbirth education classes offered at Bristol Hospital provide new and experienced parents access to accurate, timely information about childbirth, empowering all expectant people and their partners to make informed decisions about the labor and delivery process. Our comprehensive and collaborative care team is dedicated to providing the highest-quality prenatal and postnatal care to help you build confidence in your body’s ability to give birth, including aftercare. For a fruitful experience, we advise that all classes are best taken when the expectant parents are in the third trimester.
Birth Basics
This three (3) hour course covers the labor and delivery process including a brief discussion of c-sections and inductions, as well as the immediate postpartum period.
Newborn Basics
This two (2) hour course teaches expectant parents how to care for their new baby, including feeding, diaper changes, swaddling, infant safety and much more.
Breastfeeding Basics
This two (2) hour course will teach expectant parents how to provide human milk for their infant, discussing options for feeding such as direct nursing and pumping.
