More choices for Your Reproductive Health
At Bristol Health, we offer comprehensive options for pregnancy prevention, from birth control pills to surgical sterilization. Based on your health and lifestyle, we’ll help you choose which type of contraception will be safe and effective for you, whether you’ve already had children or are deciding whether motherhood is right for you.
Services We Offer
- Oral contraception — or the birth control pill — uses hormones to help prevent pregnancy and treat many women’s health conditions.
- Long-acting reversible contraception: Intrauterine devices (IUDs) provide safe and effective birth control that can last between three and 10 years. These devices may or may not use hormones to prevent pregnancy.
- Birth control patches and rings: If you don’t like taking a daily pill, birth control patches or rings use hormones to prevent pregnancy, too, and only need to be replaced once per month.
- Nonreversible birth control: Surgical techniques to prevent pregnancy, including tubal ligation or hysterectomy, are nonreversible. These techniques are most often used in women who are done having children.
Many women experience painful or irregular periods. We can help you manage and correct these issues so they don’t interfere with your daily life.
At Bristol Health, expert gynecologists help you improve your menstrual cycle so you can do the things you love all month long.

Services We Offer
- Diagnostic testing: Many conditions can be the underlying cause of menstrual problems. Your doctor may be able to identify these conditions with blood tests, ultrasounds or other testing.
- Birth control: Hormonal birth control may help lighten or shorten your periods as well as improve your emotional health during your period. Some forms of birth control are approved for treatment of specific menstrual problems, such as heavy bleeding or premenstrual dysphoric disorder. Your doctor may recommend skipping periods altogether by taking hormonal birth control continuously.
- Uterine fibroid removal: Fibroids (noncancerous growths in your uterus) can cause heavy bleeding and pain. Our physicians can remove these fibroids with minimally invasive techniques.
- Endometrial ablation: If you experience heavy bleeding, endometrial ablation can help reduce bleeding during your periods. This surgery destroys the uterine lining, so you should not use this treatment option if you plan to have children in the future.
- Antidepressants: If you have severe premenstrual dysphoric disorder, antidepressants may help you better control feelings of depression that occur late in your cycle.

Our infertility specialist works tirelessly with you to diagnose, treat and overcome your infertility issues. When you're in our care, you're treated like family as you take the steps needed to add to your family.
We work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan for infertility, determining what tests, medicines or reproductive technologies are right for your family.

- Ovulation induction: Certain medicines, including pills and injections, may help you ovulate if you can’t ovulate on your own. These medicines have helped millions of women conceive.
- Surgical management: We provide conservative surgical management of fibroids, endometriosis and uterine septa, which may contribute to infertility or recurrent miscarriage.
- Advanced surgical techniques: Our physicians use the latest minimally invasive surgical techniques to treat conditions that may affect fertility.
- Management of gynecologic conditions: Some conditions, like polycystic ovary syndrome and endometriosis, can affect your ability to become pregnant. We work with you to manage these conditions to reduce your risk for infertility.
